Hatch Valley Grown Piquin Chile Seed produces 2-3 inches pods with 45000 to 75K Scoville Heat units of heat.  This Hatch Red Hot is ideal for making red chile powder because of its thin-walled skin which makes it better for dehydration than others. Peppers reach full size when they are green in color and when left on the plant they will mature to red. Seeds can be sown in trays under lights indoors  and transplanted when several inches tall.

  • Suggested Planting Depth: 1/4 inches in trays under lights indoors
  • Suggested Planting Seasons:  Spring
  • Suggested Final Plant Spacing:  24 inches apart
  • Suggested Planting Configuration: Single Row or Solid seeded Wide row block
  • Maintain a weed-free seed bed in Full sun and with adequate moisture
