This pepper is Certified grown in the Hatch Valley region of New Mexico. The mature peppers are 7-12” long  and change from green to red. They can be used in both green and red, but their heat level is spicier when they’re red. Typically, they have 500 to 3,000 SHUs levels depending on the climate conditions. Hatch peppers are typically not as spicy as Jalapenos, but the heat level can vary.

How to Grow Your Hatch Certified Big Jim Pepper:

  • Suggested Planting Depth: ¼” inches in trays under lights
  • Suggested Planting Seasons:  Spring or Summer
  • Suggested Final Plant Spacing:  24 inches apart
  • Suggested Planting Configuration: Single Row or Solid seeded Wide row block, transplant after night temperatures are above 50F.
  • Maintain a weed-free seed bed in Full sun and with adequate moisture
  • Always wear proper PPE when handling HOT Pepper Seeds.
