Megaton is a large, late-season cabbage that produces a high-quality, high dry-matter white cabbage. This cabbage is a hybrid developed as a kraut and slaw cabbage of considerable size.  Weight range: 16-20 plus lbs., with high resistance to Fusarium yellows and tip burn.  Matures in approximately 90 days from transplanting.

How to Grow Your Megaton Hybrid Cabbage:

  • Suggested Planting Depth: ¼ inch in cells under lights
  • May be started early under lights indoors and gently transplanted outside in approximately 4 weeks
  • Suggested Planting Seasons: Spring
  • Suggested Final Plant Spacing: Depending on the desired head size, 18 to 24 plus inches apart in rows. The closer you plant, the smaller the heads
  • Suggested Planting Configuration: Single row or solid wide row block
  • Maintain a weed-free seed bed in full sun and with adequate moisture
  • Always wear proper PPE when handling treated seed
