Papaw’s Garden Supply: Helping The Next Generation To Grow With Nature.

Kaitlin is a large, late-season cabbage that produces a high-quality, high dry-matter white cabbage. It is a long-term storage cabbage that will store well until December or January. This cabbage is a mid-standard hybrid vegetable developed as a kraut cabbage. It is a sauerkraut vegetable due to its low moisture content and thick, firm leaves. Additionally, the interior is pure creamy white, making for an eye-catching design. Weight range: 8-12 lbs., with high resistance to Fusarium yellows.

How to Grow Your Kaitlin Hybrid Cabbage:

  • Suggested Planting Depth: ¼ inch in cells under lights
  • May be started early under lights indoors and gently transplanted outside in approximately 4 weeks
  • Successful crops can be grown in Southern Areas with mild winters (not below 36°F). transplants can be set out from September to February
  • Suggested Planting Seasons: Spring, Late Summer
  • Suggested Final Plant Spacing: Depending on the desired head size, 18 to 24-40 inches apart in rows. The closer you plant, the smaller the heads
  • Suggested Planting Configuration: Single row or solid wide row block
  • Maintain a weed-free seed bed in full sun and with adequate moisture
