  • White Dutch Clover is used for livestock grazing, cover crop soil improvement, erosion control and in lawn seed mixes.
  • White Dutch Clover is a perennial clover in the legume family (Fabaceae) and is capable of fixing its nitrogen, which enables it to thrive in unfertilized areas.
  • It has a shallow root system that does not do well in dry soils. It grows best when temperatures range from 50 to 85 °F.
  • Seeding just before a snow in winter allows the seed to naturally work into the soil from the freeze and thaw cycle.  In other areas seed during the coolest and rainiest times of year.  The small seed only needs to be in the top 1/8th inch of soil.
  • Typically plant height is 4-6 inches which is ideal in a yard or garden perennial area.
  • White flowers (often tinged with pink) appear in early  to mid-summer. The flower heads consist of 40 to 80 florets (individual flowers) in a cluster measuring ½ to 1 ½ inches in diameter. It reproduces by seed and by creeping stolon's.
  • A 4 oz. package will seed roughly a 500 sq. ft. area solid seeded or double that when seeded in an existing established lawn.
  • Lime the soil if acid.  Clover does not do well in acid soil conditions.
  • Our clover seed is pre-inoculated and coated with a lime dust coating.
