Papaw’s Garden Supply: Helping The Next Generation To Grow With Nature.

‘Gypsy’ broccoli is a very adaptable variety with a strong root system for summer or autumn crops. Gypsy has uniform, well-domed heads with a medium-small bead size and medium-sized stem. Large, healthy plants tolerate heat well.  Harvest the heads when the broccoli buds are firm and tight. Cutting back side shoots will promote the growth of new side sprouts, providing an abundance of smaller broccoli heads over a long period.

How to Grow Your Gypsy Broccoli:

  • Suggested Planting Depth: ¼ in in cells under lights
  • May be started early under lights indoors and gently transplanted outside in approximately 4 weeks
  • Suggested Planting Seasons: Spring, Late Summer, Fall
  • Suggested Final Plant Spacing:  18 inches after transplanting
  • Suggested Planting Configuration: Single row or solid  wide row block
  • Maintain a weed-free seed bed in full sun and with adequate moisture
