Tabasco peppers are small, about 1-2 inches and the skin is waxy, shiny, and smooth. The flesh is of a Tabasco pepper is crispy, thin, and going from green to yellow to red in color that is filled with flat, round, and cream-colored seeds.  Tabasco peppers are perfect for making Hot sauce, pickled whole or dried and crushed; it gives a very spicy flavor to any dish. The Mcilhenny family made this pepper famous with their famous Tabasco hot sauce in 1865 on Avery Island in Louisiana.

How to Grow Your Tabasco Very Hot Pepper:

  • Suggested Planting Depth: ¼” inches in trays under lights
  • Suggested Planting Seasons:  Spring or Summer
  • Suggested Final Plant Spacing:  24 inches apart
  • Suggested Planting Configuration: Single Row or Solid seeded Wide row block, transplant after night temperatures are above 50F
  • Maintain a weed-free seed bed in Full sun and with adequate moisture
  • Always wear proper PPE when handling HOT Pepper Seeds.
